I have a pair that makes me feel like a movie star, a pair that makes me feel like a vintage pin-up, and a pair that makes me feel oh so rock and roll! I find that my personality changes with each pair I put on and I adopt the attitude that comes with them. My boyfriend has rolled his eyes many, many times as after each shopping trip I walk through the door wearing a new persona. I'm not kidding!
The one thing that I don't have, and the one thing that I've always promised myself I WILL have, is a pair that I've customised myself; a pair who's personality truly reflects my own.
The problem is however, is that it's very hard for me to take a glue stick to one of my babies. I love them all dearly and each pair has earned its place in my heart. When I buy a new pair, even if I buy them with a project in mind, I instantly adore those too.
That being said, I have become determined enough to customise a pair, even if it's just a little bit, so that I have a pair that's uniquely mine.
So I dedicate this blog post to the ultimate summer staple, the most beloved of accessories, the humble sunglasses.
The best thing about customising your own sunglasses, is that it's really REALLY easy! All you really need is something to stick on, or something to paint on.
Pair 1:
First of all, you need to take a look at what you have, and what you would like to change. I had a pair with a cool Greek key design on the arms, but apart from that they were kind of plain looking. Simply by using glitter glue and following the lines already given to me, I ended up with something very effective.
The pictures don't do these justice, they look REALLY cool! And, since I already had the sunglasses, and since I got all of these glitter glues.....
....for just £1, and I only used a tiny amount, I'm gonna go ahead and call this one a freebie. I think the actual cost would be too small to work out anyway.

Total time spent: 10 minutes plus drying time.
Pair 2
This one is even more simple, and requires no drying time at all! So they're ready to wear as soon as you're done. Can't get quicker than that.
You can buy these sheets of gems from most craft stores, and they cost very little. Best of all, they are self-adhesive, so you just peel them off and stick them on.
Also, they come in a range of styles, so you can pick one to suit your taste.
These ones cost me 59p per sheet, and I only used half a sheet for this project - working out at 30p.
I brought new sunglasses from the Poundshop for this job.
Again, the pictures don't do them justice. They look REALLY cool (even if I do say so myself), and have already made it into my favourites.

There are plenty of things you could use to jazz up your sunspecs! Nail accessories, such as stick on flowers would work great because they are already the right size; and if you don't like the colour of your sunglasses, why not brighten them up with a coat of nail polish?
Either way, whatever you do to your sunnies, I just hope you adore them as much as I do.
